Lety's Workshop Share

Hi Stampers! First of all I'd like to apologize for not posting in a while. For you L.A. residents you know that the Dodgers were battling against the Phillies to make it to the World Series. So, all my time has gone to watch my Dodgers play and hopefully win. Unfortunately, our dreams of making it to the World Series were shattered yesterday with the devastating loss against the Phillies. Well, at least now I'll have more free time to stamp! That is unless I get distracted by the USC Trojans football or the 49ers or the Colts. Hee,hee.

Anywho, last Saturday was my friend Lety's workshop. It was lots of fun and she did great in sales, earning $60 in FREE merchandise along with 4 FREE stamp sets! Isn't that great! Contact me if you'd like to host your own workshop and earn FREE merchandise and STAMPS just like Lety!!

Below are the the 3 projects we made: a gift card holder and two cards. The gift card holder was made using the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set (Love it!) which is currently 20% off! Contact me or click on the flyer at the right for more information. Lety saw the gift card holder that we did at Christine's Workshop here and loved it so she asked to do one at her Workshop. We stamped the noisemaker from the set in Chocolate Chip ink on the Chocolate Chip cardstock. Then layered Bella Rose Designer Series Paper, Riding Hood Red and Whisper White. The cupcakes were also stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink and colored in using Blender Pens. We then tied the gift card holder closed with Pink Pirouette Grosgrain Ribbon.

This next card is a Christmas card that Lety also requested and asked if we could use the Snow Swirled Stamp Set. I CASEd this card from someone over at SCS but I can't remember who. As soon as I find out I will give them credit for creating such a lovely card. I really love this Christmas set and the In Color combinations look great! The ladies at the party really liked the colors as well. You can't tell in my sample, but we layered the Christmas tree on Ski Slope Designer Series Paper. I cut mine a little too short but believe me it's there! I think if I do this card again, I will add Dazzling Diamonds to it. Of course we decorated the envelopes as well!

The final project we did was a greeting card, per Lety's request as well. I decided to use some more "masculine" colors because I know how hard it can be to make a card for the special guy in your life. The flowers and sentiment are from the Upsy Daisy Stamp set (Love It!) which is one of my favorites of the new catalog! We stamped the flowers in Going Gray Ink first then used a sponge dauber and dabbed it in Night of Navy Ink. We then took the the dauber and dabbed directly onto the stamp to add some of the Night of Navy onto the flowers and stamped it on Whisper White Cardstock. Again, the ladies loved this technique! I love when I get "Ooh's and Ahh's" at workshops don't you? The striped paper is from the Banbury Designer Series Paper. And don't forget the matching stamped envelope as well!

Thanks for stopping by today! I will be working on Halloween Projects for the next few days so stayed tune for those. Good Night!

Big Bold Banbury Bday

I created this card in particular for my best friend Jose's 33rd birthday. (Happy Birthday Jose!!) I was going for a masculine look of course (which is hard since I have mostly flowers and such for my stamp sets), so I used the New Banbury Designer Series Paper. This paper is double-sided so you have lots of designs to choose from which is great! Plus, this card follows the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge on Mary Jo's Techno Stamper Blog. This is the first time I've ever tried a sketch challenge and it was fun and easy to do. Really helped me create this card in a jiffy. I will definitely be doing more of these sketches in the future!!

Sunday Workshop Projects

Hi Stampers! As promised, here are the pictures of the projects we made at my workshop this past Sunday. It was at my best friend Christine's house, we've been friends since freshman year in Highschool, that's 17 years! Open Mouth Wow how time flies!! It was lots of fun, and 2 of the girls there were new to stamping and to Stampin' Up! so it was a blast to hear them "Ooh" and "Ahh" over the catalog and the projects we made! One of the girls is even hoping to have a workshop in November so cross your fingers! Plus Christine is thinking of having a Catalog Workshop in October as well. WooHoo!! If you're interested in having an In-Home Workshop or a Catalog Workshop feel free to call or email me. As a reminder, you can now order directly from me Online 24/7 through my Stampin' Up! website. Okay, enough chatter, on to the projects!

This is a gift card holder that we made using the Big Bold Birthday Stamp Set (which will be on sale along with other birthday stamp sets for 20% off in October to celebrate Stampin' Up's 20th Birthday. Contact me for more information.) The tutorial for this gift card holder can be found on Patty Bennett's here. We used Baja Breeze (one of the In Colors) for the card, and stamped the balloon and party blower in Baja Breeze Ink. The cupcake liner and sprinkles were also stamped in Baja Breeze. The frosting for the cupcake was stamped on Whisper White Cardstock in Tangerine Tango and cut out and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. This was then layered onto Tangerine Tango Cardstock, also an In Color. Then we slipped the 1/4" Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon behind the cupcake image and tied it off. The girls loved it! Oh, one quick side note: the circle I used to punch the slot was the 1-1/4" Circle punch but it should be the 1/2" circle punch. Mine was not working properly so I had to improvise.

Accessories: 1/4" Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon, Word Window Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals

Christine has gotten into scrapbooking ever since Baby George was born so she wanted one of the projects to be a scrapbook page. I decided to make it a 6x6 scrapbook page to give the girls there an idea of how to get started with scrapbooking. We used the Dreams Du Jour Set along with some more of the In Colors, this time Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss. Also used Bella Rose Designer Series Paper and the New Scallop Square Punch. The butterflies are stamped in Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red. The Love You image was stamped in Chocolate Chip and colored in with Blender Pens, also using Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss ink and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. This layout was CASED from the Workshop templates available to Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.

This last card was made using the set Flight of the Butterfly. Again we used more of the In Colors, this time Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, and Kiwi Kiss along with Bella Rose Designer Series Paper. I didn't realize until after the workshop that I used only the In Colors for these projects! I believe this was a CASE from Kai Ulani, one of the girls from the Udderly Awesome group. We used the New Scallop Edge Punch to add the scallops on the Riding Hood Red square. We also stamped the little flower from the set in Pink Piroutte on the right side of the card. I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for the first time at a workshop and they loved it! We used it to add the dotted Riding Hood Red Layer on the Pink Pirouette butterfly. The sentiment was stamped in Basic Black and the small butterfly was stamped in Riding Hood Red, cut out and adhered with Stampin Dimensionals. I also decorated my envelope and encouraged the girls to do the same, after all the envelope is also part of the presentation!

Here are some pictures of the Girls hard at work on their projects but having fun!

And here they are individually showing their version of my Flight of the Butterfly card. As you can see they all decided to add their own take on the card, which is by all means fine by me! I encourage all my workshop attendees to think outside the box so to speak, and feel free to creat their card however they would like. I really want them to get their creative juices flowing! Smile

My Convention Swaps

Good evening everyone! Boy am I tired today, it was the first day back for the teachers at the school I work in and we had meetings all day. It's actually my first year working here so I have a lot of adjusting to do. Tomorrow and the rest of the week will be more meetings and setting up of the classroom for all the children who will be returning on Monday. Phew, I think it will be a tiresome week for us all...So I finally had time to add my information to my Convention Swaps and here they are. Enjoy!

This first card is a CASE from Nancy Morgan over at Paper Smiles, she has a great site, so check it out when you get the chance. I changed the colors of mine and used the NEW In Color, Pacific Point Blue. I am really loving this shade of blue! Also, I didn't have enough rhinestone brads to use for my swaps so I chose to use the mini silver brads for the center of the chocolate chip flower as well as the corners. The set used was Enjoy Every Moment, and I did some paper piercing around the Pacific Point Blue flower as well as on the corners of the Pacific Point Blue cardstock. I also used the Crop-A-Dile to do some embossing along the corners.

Stamps: Enjoy Every Moment
Paper: Pacific Point Blue, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Pacific Point Blue and Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Mat Pack, Piercing Tool, Crop-A-Dile, Mini Silver Brads, Ticket Corner Punch
This next card was made using the cupcake from Big, Bold Birthday. I love cupcakes and love to use this set for birthday cards. Colors used are Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip, a color combo that I am quicking beginning to like. I really love Chocolate Chip cardstock and am going through it like crazy, constantly having to replinish my stock! The "sprinkles" on the cupcake were stamped Rose Red ink and then added some Dazzling Diamonds to give them that extra sparkle. The dots on the Chocolate Chip layer were made using the same stamp that was used for the "sprinkles." I attached the Regal Rose ribbon with some glue dots to the right side of the card.

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Yo Yo Yellow
Accessories: Dazzling Diamonds, 2-Way Glue Pen, Watercolor brush, Glue Dots

This final card was made for a ShoeBox Swap I participated in with my awesome group of demonstrators: UdderlyAwesome! I had never participated in a ShoeBox Swap before and let me tell you, it was a lot of fun. We met one night after convention at the Bar/Lobby of the hotel where some of our group members were staying at. We all basically swapped boxes (which is what we brought with all the supplies needed to complete each swap) and were stamping late into the night! The stamp set I used is the NEW Level 3 Hostess Set: Deer Friends. I love this set, it is so cute and you can make so many quick cards using the punches! You can't really tell in the picture but I colored in the nose of the reindeer using a blender pen and the NEW In Color Pink Pirouette. Also, the large dots on the Chocolate Chip layer were made using the dot from Enjoy Every Moment. I also added some dots to the center of each scallop with my Signo Gel Pen. Thanks for stopping by!
