Sorry for being MIA

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted in the past days but I have had a hectic week with meetings and setting up of the classroom for today's new batch of children! We will be having 24 children this year, most of them boys between 4-5 years old. It is going to be interesting for sure! So as a result, I haven't had much time to stamp so today I will be sharing a card I made for a Christmas card swap I participated in. I guess you could say that I CASED myself because it's similar to my Deer Friends card that I posted here. For this particular card though, I used the Bella Rose Designer Series Paper instead of the Chocolate Chip cardstock.

Tomorrow I hope to post the pictures of some of the Convention Swaps I received and later this week I'll post some pictures of projects we'll be making at my Stamp Workshop this Sunday. Oh, and check back tomorrow for some exciting news!! You won't want to miss out!
Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Stampin'!I have a secret

My Convention Swaps

Good evening everyone! Boy am I tired today, it was the first day back for the teachers at the school I work in and we had meetings all day. It's actually my first year working here so I have a lot of adjusting to do. Tomorrow and the rest of the week will be more meetings and setting up of the classroom for all the children who will be returning on Monday. Phew, I think it will be a tiresome week for us all...So I finally had time to add my information to my Convention Swaps and here they are. Enjoy!

This first card is a CASE from Nancy Morgan over at Paper Smiles, she has a great site, so check it out when you get the chance. I changed the colors of mine and used the NEW In Color, Pacific Point Blue. I am really loving this shade of blue! Also, I didn't have enough rhinestone brads to use for my swaps so I chose to use the mini silver brads for the center of the chocolate chip flower as well as the corners. The set used was Enjoy Every Moment, and I did some paper piercing around the Pacific Point Blue flower as well as on the corners of the Pacific Point Blue cardstock. I also used the Crop-A-Dile to do some embossing along the corners.

Accessories: Mat Pack, Piercing Tool, Crop-A-Dile, Mini Silver Brads, Ticket Corner Punch
This next card was made using the cupcake from Big, Bold Birthday. I love cupcakes and love to use this set for birthday cards. Colors used are Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip, a color combo that I am quicking beginning to like. I really love Chocolate Chip cardstock and am going through it like crazy, constantly having to replinish my stock! The "sprinkles" on the cupcake were stamped Rose Red ink and then added some Dazzling Diamonds to give them that extra sparkle. The dots on the Chocolate Chip layer were made using the same stamp that was used for the "sprinkles." I attached the Regal Rose ribbon with some glue dots to the right side of the card.

This final card was made for a ShoeBox Swap I participated in with my awesome group of demonstrators: UdderlyAwesome! I had never participated in a ShoeBox Swap before and let me tell you, it was a lot of fun. We met one night after convention at the Bar/Lobby of the hotel where some of our group members were staying at. We all basically swapped boxes (which is what we brought with all the supplies needed to complete each swap) and were stamping late into the night! The stamp set I used is the NEW Level 3 Hostess Set: Deer Friends. I love this set, it is so cute and you can make so many quick cards using the punches! You can't really tell in the picture but I colored in the nose of the reindeer using a blender pen and the NEW In Color Pink Pirouette. Also, the large dots on the Chocolate Chip layer were made using the dot from Enjoy Every Moment. I also added some dots to the center of each scallop with my Signo Gel Pen. Thanks for stopping by!

Another Workshop Share

Okay, so here's the final project we made at my last workshop. Sorry it took me so long to post but I was having technical difficulties while trying to size it. It's made out of one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock! That's right, just one sheet! How cool is that? You can find the tutorial written by Beate here.

We used the New In Color, Pink Piroutte for the box and the ink to stamp the flower from Eastern Blooms which was also a free stamp set to all demos who attended convention this year. Yay! You know, I'm not really a fan of pink (ask my friends) but for some reason I really like this shade of pink. It's just so delicately soft and pretty. I can't explain it but I really do love it! I know, I know what can I say, I've gone over to the dark side. Haha. Okay, that's it for today, I've got to get some shut eye! Stay tuned because within the next couple of days I'll be posting the swaps I took with me to convention this year as well as some of my favorite swaps that I received. Thanks for stopping by. Happy Stampin'!

Fall/Winter Catalog Workshop

Last Saturday I had my first workshop to showcase the brand new Stampin' Up! Fall/Winter Catalog. I gotta tell you I love so many of the new sets and the new Designer Series Paper, oh and the accessories! My wish list is so long I've had to make more than one! Well, we made two cards and a cute box at the workshop. I was a little nervous because it had been a long time since I had a workshop but everyone had fun and I got 2 bookings as a result! Yay me! SmileyCentral.com

The first card we made uses the set Inspired By Nature, which was one of the free sets from convention! To be honest, at first I wasn't too keen on this set but it has definitely grown on me and I am starting to love it! This particular card was actually a case from September's Stampin' Success. I didn't have the Pacific Point Blue designer paper that is used in the sample so I had to improvise. Hope you like it.

This next card is actually a case from Patty Bennett's site and can be found here. If you've never been to Patty's site you have to check it out, she has so many amazing projects and ideas, I love going to her site and I guarantee that you will too! I had to change my card a bit because I didn't have all the supplies that Patty used on hers but I think it came out nice, and the girls at my workshop loved it! So thanks Patty for the inspiration!
